So its my birthday next week (if your reading mom, I promise to move out this year) so as a birthday present for myself, I would really like a working scale model of an engine...
I know about the "visible v8" models but those don't really work, I mean they do, but its not a real engine...
Are there any working engine scale model kits out there that you guys know of?
kinda like this size:

I think there's an entire forum dedicated to this stuff. Look for that little V8 that was floating around a month or two ago. I think the build is documented on such a forum.

There are mini combustion engines used for model airplanes. I'm not too sure on the pricing but I know that you can order kits of them. Also here's a mini V-12.

I was going to suggest the Conley. Too bad they are so damn expensive. Have you seen the mini Grave Digger?

I followed the guy building it for over 4 years. It's amazing. Start from the beginning.

There are lots of working mini combustion engines. Even V8s.
Check out The Home Model Engine Machinist for an entire community for it. Well, not just combustion engines. But there are plenty.
Kits? Not so much...

By "working", do you mean compressed air, or actual gasoline?
